HighSchools CTF Workshop
The HighSchools CTF Workshops, organized as part of the CyberHighSchools program of the CINI Cybersecurity National Lab, are a series of hands-on workshops, held in various cities during the school year, introducing cybersecurity, aimed at high school students, professors and teachers of all types of secondary schools, interested in learning more about the basic concepts of cybersecurity.
During the workshops, the fundamental introductory concepts relating to some branches of cybersecurity are addressed with a practical approach, through the presentation of tools and numerous exercises on practical cases. In order to better understand the topics addressed, computer competitions are organized within the workshops, in the style of Capture-The-Flag (CTF) competitions, in teams and typically lasting 3 hours in which the participants will apply the concepts illustrated in practice. At the end of the competitions, the best teams are awarded in a final closing ceremony. To participate in the competitions, it is necessary to bring at least one laptop per team with power and WiFi connection.

Bologna @ ITASEC - 08/02/2025
The HighSchools CTF Workshop organized as part of ITASEC 2025, the Italian conference on cybersecurity, will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025 in Bologna. Students and professors from institutes in the province of Bologna will be invited to the workshop.
Oristano - 11/11/2024
The seventh HighSchools CTF Workshop supported by the University of Cagliari was held on November 11, 2024 at the ITIS Othoca in Oristano. The workshop was organized together with the members of the CTF team Srdnlen of the University of Cagliari, who curated the educational content of the seminars and the competition. More than 120 students and professors from the province of Oristano participated in the workshop.
San Rossore - 18/10/2024
A workshop dedicated to female students from the region was held on October 18, 2024 at the Migliarino Regional Park in San Rossore di Pisa and organized jointly by the Cybersecurity National Lab of CINI and the IMT Alti Studi School of Lucca with the support of the Tuscany Region. 75 female students from the Tuscany region participated in the workshop.
Salerno @ ITASEC - 12/04/2024
The sixth HighSchools CTF Workshop was held on April 12, 2024 at the Grand Hotel Salerno organized as part of ITASEC 2024, the Italian conference on cybersecurity. The workshop was attended by more than 150 students and professors from the institutes of the provinces of Salerno and Naples.
Udine - 12/12/2023
The fifth HighSchools CTF Workshop supported by the University of Udine was held on December 12, 2023 at the Rizzi Library. The workshop was organized together with the members of the CTF team madrhacks of the University of Udine, who curated the educational content of the seminars and the competition. More than 150 students and professors from the institutes of Udine and its province participated in the workshop.
Perugia - 04/12/2023
The fourth HighSchools CTF Workshop supported by the institute itself was held on December 4, 2023 at the I.T.I.S. Alessandro Volta in Perugia. The workshop was organized together with the members of the CTF teams PGiatasti, who curated the educational content of the seminars and the competition, and by the IngrifHack team of the University of Perugia. More than 200 students and professors from institutes in Perugia and neighboring cities participated in the workshop.
Verona - 28/11/2023
The third HighSchools CTF Workshop supported by the EduLife Foundation was held on November 28, 2023 at the 311 Verona. The workshop was organized together with the members of the CTF team Cyb3rM0nk3ys of the University of Verona, who curated the educational content of the seminars and the competition. More than 120 students and professors from the Verona institutes and the ITS Academy LAST participated in the workshop.
Pisa @ Internet Festival - 07/08/2023
The second HighSchools CTF Workshop was held on October 7, 2023 at the Polo Didattico San Rossore, organized as part of the Internet Festival 2023, supported by the University of Pisa, the IMT Alti Studi Lucca School and the Tuscany Region. The workshop was organized together with the members of the CTF fibonhack teams of the University of Pisa, who curated the educational content of the seminars and the competition. More than 150 students and professors from the institutes of Pisa and the surrounding provinces participated in the workshop.
Bari @ ITASEC - 02/05/2023
The first HighSchools CTF Workshop was held on May 2, 2023 at the Fiera del Levante in Bari , organized as part of ITASEC 2023, the Italian conference on cybersecurity. The workshop was organized together with the members of the CTF teams M0NT3C4RL0 of the University of Bari and pwnzer0tti of the Polytechnic of Bari, who curated the educational content of the seminars and the competition. More than 300 students and professors from the institutes of Puglia and neighboring regions participated in the workshop.
